Relationships in our Hands!
Many a times, we
forget that we are loved. People, who do love us, expect a great deal from us like
for instance, our Parents, drilling us constantly to clean between toes or
polish shoes or continue with our education. The decision remains up to us
always. We may argue, create a fuss or rudely ignore their suggestions.
Throughout the years however we begin to notice the reasons for their concerns
and one of them definitely being not to RULE over us. They obviously want us to
be better human beings and achieve much more than they did.
It may be difficult to sustain a Happy Married Life together if spouses constantly disagree or Argue. Similarly your Teenage Son/ Daughter may be acting difficult for reasons you are unable able to figure out.
What do you do then, how do you behave? Are you supposed to stomp out of the room angrily, cut off pocket-money or hurl things at each other in vengeance?
LISTEN & BE PATIENT- Do not interrupt while someone is speaking to you. If you stop them mid-sentence, the result is more likely to be more frustration and anger. Think about whatever they say as an 'Opinion' but do remember that this doesn't necessarily have to be a reasonable Viewpoint. This may be particularly difficult to do if your companion often gets excited but remember that the more he/she suppresses their anger, the more unfavorable for you. So let them have their say, your turn will come to.
DON'T RETALIATE- Usually when an argument takes place, we tend to get too excited and wrapped up in the moment. Pause and rethink your Actions. Are you trying to convey a message or are you trying to win WWF? Be rational and speak slowly, trying to make eye contact whenever possible. You will slowly begin to reason with your companion and think productively.
NEVER ABUSE- Alright, so you blurted out some bad words. Now what? Apologize and be quick about it. Abusing only adds to the Problem or Issue at hand. Always remember that if you wish to be respected, you need to first show respect to others.
SOLVE THE PROBLEM- Do not wait for an opportunity to have the same argument again because the next time, you will almost certainly remember your first ordeal. Simply be Logical, realistic and practical and if your companion fails to see reason, then approach the same issue at a relatively laid-back setting, maybe while both of you are sun-bathing or having evening tea together.
STOP RELATING- This happens to many of us. We tend to relate one incident to all arguments or mishaps. We need to remember that everything happens when it needs to and that many choices in life are inevitable. If you solve a problem do not relate to it over and over again, this only makes your companion more irritated because like you put in alot of effort being patient and listening to his/her opinions, he/she too may have tried their very best to avoid harsh words or an ignorant attitude.
MOST IMPORTANTLY- Remember that two people cannot be angry at the same time. Your notion is to solve the problem and not make it worse. When one talks, the other listens and if he/she doesn't talk or listen, make them do so. Over the years we have noticed how couples separate or divorce each other due to lack of communication. Take time out to talk to each other. Be a good listener and a Good Advisor.
The next time you have an argument, try to keep your cool and refer to the tips listed above. I am certain you will enjoy 'The New Controlled YOU.'

A Dog in a Wolves Disguise
Establishing for a fact that dogs are a man's Best friend and that these species has evolved from none other than the Wolf, why then are Wolfs considered BAD?
Why does Media continue to portray the WOLF as the Worst blood thirsty Prowler? Stories from our Childhood like the boy who cried wolf and Red Riding Hood simply add to the Anoyance. Then came the Warewolf movies, followed by Vampire versus Wolf. Another famous Example is BAD WOLF from the afamed British DOCTOR WHO Series.
I've seen some beautiful pics of Wolfdogs recently and there don't look cunning or mean. Neither do they turn into blood hounds when its a full moon. DOGS EVOLVED FROM WOLVES but it's a pity to know that whoever created the Big Bad Wolf Myth surely made big bucks out of this poor creatures Ordeal, considering the current plight of the ETHIOPIAN WOLF. One Glance at him at any Zoo or Animal Park/ Sanctuary and you want to run as fast as your legs can carry you.
Let me know your reviews friends because I'm overwhelmed with sympathy for Wolves, being a pet lover et all....

Blogging or Journaling?
It's a wonder why blogs are not called journals anymore. According to me it would probably be a mix of both but sincerely I'd prefer the term journaling. Many a times I just sit on my PC and stare at it blankly. What am I supposed to write, my views from the News printed in the Local Newpaper or what new tricks my kittens have learnt today. It's a matter of time for me to actually differentiate between the two and the more I blog the sooner I'll Know.
Oh that Reminds me, I had written a thesis on te Revolutinary American Author Walter Whitman and his Vision of Writing.
Read my article on my Profile's URL. I have to admit its quiet Lengthy but makes a lot of sense to Bloggers like you and me! Infact I think it was him whom Americans Writers should credit the whole Idea of Blogging to.

Ever hungry Pets...
Ever wondered why our pets espescially the well cared for domesticated and extrememly spoilt dogs and cats, forever remain hungry?
Today my short haired domestic adult cat dragged a half-gnawed baby lizard into our house from the backyard and placidly palced it between a circle of her five 3 month old kittens who much to my annoyance started kicking around the limp bodied amphibian. I hastly scolded my cat avoiding the deed to become more blood thirsty all along foiling the dead lizard into a tissue and spiralling it out of our window. But somehow in the deapts of my heart, I knew the horror wouldn't end there. Makes me wonder why I spend oddles of cash on cat food when their diet is readily available in our back yard.
Vets have strictly asked me to feed my cats 'Cat food' only. I try and I mean, I honestly do. What am I to do if they coyly sneak in after the maid into the kitchen and rampage for chicken bones in the dustbin. The maid is given strict instructions to close the kitchen door behind her but the poor thing, always in a bit of hurry and trying to appease me at the same time often forgets and I am left to pull out chicken bones from the groaning mouths of my kittens. That is a task my husband leaves quite slyly and entirely upto me to handle. All he has to do is say the Word and I pounce up ready to fullfill my task. Even a Red Bull fails to have the same heart thumping adreline rush on me.
Hah...If only Pets were not so nasty. I am actually beginning to think that they enjoy the chase.

Travel Review- Ukraine, Lvov
Reliving Lvov- History Calling
Lvov is one of the most mystifying cities within Ukraine, blessed with massive European architecture, monuments, museums, parks and churches. With a current population of approximately 800.000, Lvov was a part of Poland, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Russian empire and USSR once upon a time but since 1991 it is an independent State.
Streets are lined with busy kiosks, architectural landscapes, gothic century cathedrals, and opera theatres. The Armenian and Orthodox churches manifest the cities ambience and depict a potently evolving history. No doubt the city is officially included to the UNESCO List of World Monuments of Architecture. Lvov has always been a significant educational portal housing the famous Ivan Franko National University where I learnt to speak, read and write Russian from amiable tutors.
Lvov has one small welcoming international airport (UKLL/LWO) located a mere 6Km from the Cities hub. I personally recommend taking the Railway as it has all the comforts of traveling, tourists die for. I recall a modestly priced journey from Lvov to the Ukraine’s Capital Kiev. I was immediately impressed by their railway cabins, which were amply stacked with soaps and towels, fresh smelling, scrupulously white and cozy pillows, blankets mattresses. An attendant checked on us every 2 hours to offer tea, biscuits and other local desserts.
The most comfortable hotels are located in the heart of the city and tourists are offered cheaper initiatives such as renting an apartment. The ‘Downtown Lvov Apartments’ are only meters away from theatres, cathedrals, museums, restaurants cafes and shops. A lot of ancient fortification and religious buildings are situated around the city- Olesko castle and Pidgirtsi castle. Not far from the city itself there are balneology centers in Truskavets, Morshyn and Skhidnytsia and ski-centers in Slavsko and Tysovets. The cities inhabitants are friendly and warm towards tourists and often invite Polish tourists as till date the city houses Polish architecture. Tourists are advised to buy mineral water and speak in Russian, Ukrainian, German or even English dialect.
The market place is havoc with fresh supplies arriving from the suburbs and rural plantations in the day time. Women are often seen employed as compared to men who would rather play dominoes within the city’s central square. Ukrainian women are well known throughout the world for the arduous jobs and active spirit.
You will see them tediously working in restaurants, medical centers, kiosks, bars, postal houses, hostels, messes and universities. Streets are also lined with young talented artists who make paintings out of charcoal and sketch portraits for passer-bys.
A famous club known as ‘Split’ is one of the most privileged and prestigious entertainment zones consisting of casinos, restaurants, pubs and show-bars. Busses, railways, Tramps and Taxis run throughout the day and a tramp is the most convenient and cheapest mode of transport within the city preferred by university students and employees.
A personal favorite local starter is the Russian salad and ‘Smitana’, a drink made of rich curd-pure in quality and excellent in taste. The salad is served in various Restaurants such as ‘Kapriz’ and ‘Darwin’ and the ‘Smitana’ can be purchased locally from Kiosks or the Market place. I have till date not relished upon the original salad elsewhere. Many restaurants within the city offer smoking, non-smoking areas, special family room for larger families and a warm but busy ambience.
The climate in Ukraine is temperate continental, mainly characterized by plentiful precipitation and cloudiness in winter and fall where winters are usually long and cold. Summers are short but can be pretty hot.
In winter the kiosks close by 5pm as it becomes really dark and the streets become deserted. At this time it is advisable not to venture off alone and to take a taxi while traveling within the city. My overall stay for 6 months in the city only warned me about staying out doors at nights as it can be dangerous for tourists and students to wander off alone. The cities inhabitants usually retire to bed early and begin the day as soon as the cock crows. Being a winter-bird myself, I would travel to this city often during December and January. Summer-birds are advised to wear carry minimal clothing as it can become very hot and sweaty during summer. The city has forestry reserves and various natural resorts; you will be thrilled by the beauty and natural forestry throughout the city.
Before you go do not forget to learn some basics in Russian language. Some phrases like ‘Thank you’, translated as ‘Cpaciba’, ‘Excuse me’, translated as ‘Pajalysta’, ‘Do you speak English?’ translated as ‘we gavariti pa angleesski?’, and a handy Phrase book will help you move about the city more conveniently. Till then ‘La re vedere’ (translated as good-bye).

Happy Anniversary
To my Teddy Bear,
Years go by so fast indeed.
I still recall awakening to a cold chilly morning on our first day of marriage. We snuggled close to each other in the comforting warm beds of our crafty wooden cabin in the Alps of Switzerland.
Nestled in your warm embrace with my head on your broad chest and hearing the soft thumping of your heart, I looked up towards you while reflecting on how our new life together would be. Your face showcased a childlike demure and once again I returned to deep slumber never wanting the dream-like phase to end.
10 dodgy years down the line and what a ride it has been with two beautiful daughters and our pet parrot who eats more strawberries in a day that I can lay my hands on. Today, I am writing to tell you that no matter how many hardships we have faced throughout the years and irrespective of our indifferences, I am still able to rest my head on your chest night and night and feel the security of your warm ambience as your heartbeats lull me to sleep. That my darling is pure Wedding bliss. Thankyou my Darling for a gift of a lifetime.
Happy Wedding Anniversary!
