I just spilled the Beans...
Article Marketing is a tedious task and so far with my research on the subject, I have come up with the following Effective yet time-consuming points...
1. Preparing a Newsletter with related articles and email to subscribers. Here I can expect about 100 clicks give and take from the 300 subscribers on my list.
2. What works well: Writing more content for Experts column as opposed to Triond.
I wrote 2 different articles for both and my $$$ went higher with experts column simply on the views generated. Triond places my content on a related site with various advertisements, which in my opinion are certainly sure to drive away visitors from the actual site due to random blinking text and images. Remember, we are dealing with an intelligent group of people online who aren't stupid to just click randomly on ads.
So the catch here is that although Triond places my article on a different site like writing hood for example. It does nothing to help a writer in terms of promoting their content online. Us unfortunate lot have to deal with getting the article viewed an umpteen number of times and even re-writing it for different article submission directories and create back links to the original content on Triond. So the catch here is that Triond is actually earning money from placing ads on other people’s content, not very impressive. But, but although these guys are cunningly smart, my cents are still accumulating in my account so I should let this aggression pass.
3. Mylot vs Triond: I have a renewed interest in my lot because even though I don't have a Masters in English Language, I can still answer and ask questions to the community members there and get paid for it. Plus they pay for random jobs, still better than Triond, where I am continuously wondering how to generate more views on a single article.
4. Revamping Articles on Triond: I am a lazy writer and gossip excites me, so with Google Trends, I am looking into revamping or re-writing some articles.
5. Luckily with lots and lots of research (I am always learning) I was able to find something called Jiggling the Web, I am going to try it today and see how it works. Apparently this makes your link indexed by google within 24 hours.
6. Recently I have growing more and more fond of Google and their apps for users such as Google Trends and Google Keyword tool. You can get some insight on keywords to select for your website.
Social Bookmarking Sites like Digg, delicious, chimein, reddit and stumbleupon are all great tools to share your content with like-minded communities and also to get some visits to your profile.
Post snippets or Blurbs of your site and blogpost or articles to social Networking sites like facebook, twitter, squidoo, hubpages, helium etc.

It takes time however to prepare a catchy and affective newsletter. I link all photos and ‘Read more’ text to the original content. So time-consuming.
